Disney Live!

Halloween afternoon we went to Disney Live at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. My favorite picture is the one of the buys in front of the MSU Basketball trophy case.

We went as frogs this halloween. Here are some pictures from Halloween night. We went to the neighbors at Poppop's house, then to trunk or treat at Queen of the Miraculous Medal in Jackson. After that we visited Grandpa Sam.

Fathers Day Weekend "09"

We had a very busy weekend this year for fathers day. It started with a wedding on Friday and then never slowed down. On Saturday, we took the dudes to their first Tigers game. We parked as close as we could get and then let the dudes walk the rest of the way. On their was to Comerica Park, they got their first glimpse of Ford Field. I am sure we will be seeing a game there some time too.






Uncle Sammy boomball was nice enough to come to the game with us and help watch the dudes. They both wanted to hold his hand on the walk to the game. Here is a picture of all the boys under the big Tiger in front of Comerica Park. It was so hot that day and Uncle Sammy and Aidan got the shady spot.

Uncle Tommy gave us some really good seats for the game. So I let all of the boys go down and sit in the good seats and I went shopping. I got the dudes new Tigers hats and cups to bring to their next Tiger game. The attention span of a two and a half year old is about 30 minutes and by the time you added in the heat and the energy it took to walk from the car, I think we watched about three innings of the actual game.

Despite being tired, the dudes did enjoy their first ride on the baseball Ferris wheel. Then we headed to the customer service office and the dudes got a certificate with their name and the date on it to show when they attended their first game. And a special thanks goes out to Uncle Sammy for coming with us and also for having the muscle to carry Aidan all the way back to the car.

On Sunday, we headed to Jackson to visit Gramma and Poppa. In the last blog you saw that Aunt Karen had made a trip to Michigan to visit us, and she had a left a present for the dudes before she headed back home, the biggest blowup waterslide known to man. The dudes loved it! THANKS AUNT KAREN! They played in that cold water until their little lips were blue.

Once they figured out they could spray everyone with the water cannons, we were all in trouble. There was water flying every where. Everyone enjoyed playing with the waterslide. Come back next summer Aunt Karen and we will show you how much fun we have in the water.

The final stop on our tour that weekend was to visit with Grandpa Sam, Sandy and Cameron. We took Grandpa Sam over his fathers day present and showed him our driving skills. I am sure he was impressed.

Uncle David's Graduation Party

Uncle David graduated from high school in May of 2009. Yes, I am that far behind in posting the blog. So in June, Uncle David had a graduation party! The dudes love to party. The party was held in Spring Arbor. As you can see below, Grandma K attended the party and was a great help in keeping the dudes occupied so mom could help with the party. The dudes love anything with a steering wheel.





Here is Aidan partying down with Aunt Sherry. Not really sure what he is doing but, I am sure it is entertaining.

We also had a surprise visit from Aunt Karen that weekend. It was so nice to see her! This was the first time she had met the dudes. And just like the rest of us, she thought they were crazy.

Fun at Gamma and Papa's

The Dudes love to go visit Gamma and Papa. Their new favorite thing to do at Papa's house is jump on the trampoline. We all stand guard while the dudes have the time of their lives.



Papa took the dudes on an outing to the park at Cascades. I think we have been to every park in Jackson by now. We like to try out a different one every time.

The dudes have a hard time deciding which toy is their favorite at the park. I think it is a toss up between the swings and the slide.

One of our other favorite past times at Gamma and Papa's is to beat up Uncle David. They like to jump on him like he is a trampoline, but he loves them anyway.

We had a good weekend, but now it is time to make the journey back to Ohio. This was our goodbye picture even though we make the trip to Michigan quite often.

Spring Time Fun

As I am so frequently reminded, I am way behind on updating the blog. Since the boys started preschool this week, I am hoping that I will now have more time to spend keeping everyone updated about the weekly goings on at the Sicilia house. I laughed out loud the other day when it occurred to me that we started the blog to keep everyone up to date about what the dudes were doing, yet the dudes are the reason that we don't have a lot of time to work on the blog. Anyways, here is an update on some of the fun we've had the last few months.

We enrolled the boys in soccer this past spring. It was at an indoor facility where they could run around and reek havoc with the soccer balls.

The instructors tried their best to provide the kids with a beginning look at the game of soccer, which of course Louie loves. The dudes learned about stretching before you play, dribbling the ball and even how to do a header. They practiced that skill with a balloon.

Memorial weekend we headed to Michigan and made a stop to visit Uncle Sammy boomball at Emily's house. We had lunch there and played some soccer in the yard.

We were also lucky enough to meet up with Aunt Sue and Uncle Dick at the park for some fun in the sun. We had big fun that day at the splash pad at Hawk Island Park. We can't wait to see them again and officially meet Eli.

Our Day at the Zoo

Last Saturday, we took the dudes to the Columbus Zoo. They really seem to enjoy seeing all the animals and people watching. The first thing we saw when we entered the gates at the zoo were these cute little baby ducks. The dudes wanted to share their chips with the ducks. Aren't they nice.

On to our next adventure at the petting zoo, this is Aidan brushing a goat that was just laying there in the middle of all the action. After a few reminders from me, Aidan did a very good job of brushing the goat gently.

This is a picture of Nico trying to climb the fence to get to the horses. They seemed to be his favorite at the petting zoo.

This is a picture of the dudes visiting the bear habitat. I think the dudes liked the bears because of all the noise they made, almost reminded me of home.

And last, but not least, the Sea Otter. It is kind of hard to tell what it is in the picture because it swims so fast it is hard to get a good shot. The dudes loved the Sea Otter and the fish. They loved the fish so much in fact that we now have two fish at home named Red Car fish and Nemo fish. Aren't we gullible!


Don't be surprised if you see a lot more of our adventures at the zoo this summer. We bought a season pass this year. Hopefully, the dudes will really enjoy seeing all the animals.

A Visit from the Holton's

Also in April, the Holtons came to visit us here in Ohio. We love having visitors. Megan had some Irish dancing to do in downtown Columbus. I went to the competition with her and Bridget. Megan did really well. If I remember correctly she got two second place metals. This picture shows Megan letting Nico play with one of her metals.

While the girls were at the dance competition all the boys went to the zoo. This picture shows Patrick and the dudes posing so nicely for a picture, however the dudes had a breakdown soon after and had to come home and take a nap. Ed and Patrick stayed to see more of the Columbus Zoo.

Visit to Cousin Madison's House

In April, we made trip to Michigan and stopped to visit Uncle Tommy, Aunt Jackie and Cousin Madison. Madison had a new world of toys for the dudes to explore.

We finally got Madison and dudes to all sit down at the same time so we could take a picture of all the grandkids for Grandma K. They were all watching Baby Einstiens.

Madison was not sure about the dudes touching all of her stuff at first, but by the end of the night she was sharing with them very nicely. If only the dudes could learn to share with each other.
